A conversation with director Valeska Grisebach about her debut film MEIN STERN.

SYNOPSIS
Nicole is 14 years old. When her mother starts work one night, the young girl seizes the opportunity and invites her boyfriend Christopher. They play the perfect bride and groom and try to reproduce what they have observed from adults. Very quickly, the young couple realize that adult life is not as easy as it seems.

ABOUT
After studying German and philosophy in Berlin, Munich and Vienna, Valeska Grisebach joined the Film Academy Vienna in the Directing Department, under the guidance of Peter Patzak, Wolfgang Glück and Michael Haneke. In 2001, her graduation film, MEIN STERN, won the FIPRESCI Prize (Special Mention) in Toronto and the Grand Jury Prize at the Turin Film Festival. His second feature, SEHNSUCHT, was invited to compete at the Berlinale (2006), and went on to win international acclaim: Special Jury Prize in Buenos Aires (BAFICI), Grand Prix Asturias at the Gijón Film Festival, Special Jury Prize at the Warsaw Film Festival ... In 2017, his third feature, Western, was selected for the 70th Cannes Film Festival at Un Certain Regard, and received numerous awards worldwide.
